Man Eats 10 Bhut Jolokia In Seconds To Break The World Record

Chillies are an integral part of daily cooking. Be it any simple snack or a spicy curry, its addition can amp up the taste of any savoury dish. However, one must always be very careful while adding chillies as even one extra piece can make the food extremely spicy. There are numerous varieties of chillies available and each of them has different spice levels.  

Among all, bhut jolokia is one of the hottest peppers in the world. Widely found in the Northeastern Indian states like Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, it is also known as ghost pepper. This chilli is said to be two times as spicier than Mexican red savina and thrice as strong as cayenne. Recently, an American man broke the world record of eating ten bhut jolokias in the fastest time of half a minute.

This record is set by Greg Foster who ate 10 ghost peppers in a stunning 30.01 seconds which gave him a position in the Guinness World Records. The video of this astonishing event was shared on the official Instagram page of Guinness World Records and has got more than 128k views and 46.9k likes since posted. Take a look. 

The video of the record-breaking moment was uploaded with a caption "Fastest time to eat 10 bhut jolokia chillis 30.01 seconds Greg Foster." People in the comment section are shocked by his spice tolerance and cannot imagine trying it by themselves. In the video, Greg can be seen gulping one bhut jolokia chilli after another until he eats all of them kept in front of him.  

Upon finishing the chillies, Greg boldly sticks out his tongue to show that he has completed the task. After his accomplishment, Greg was given his victory certificate and he exited with a triumphant smile. However, this is not the first time Greg Foster has set a world record in consuming chilli peppers. As per the Guinness World Records, he has also marked his victory in eating Carolina reaper chilli peppers in an impressive fastest time.
