Aloe Vera Sharbat: The Perfect Combination Of Health And Taste

Aloe vera is synonymous with goodness. Aloe vera gel boasts a plethora of health, skin, and hair advantages. Aloe vera, also known as ghritkumari in Hindi, is easily grown in the house and enjoys widespread acceptability worldwide. It helps with weight loss since its nutrient content detoxifies the body, increases metabolism, assists digestion, and so on. It contains acemannan, a complex carb that aids in nutritional uptake by cells, resulting in detoxification. The presence of vitamin B aids metabolism, which aids in fat burning.

Aloe vera is commonly taken in the form of juice (made of gel and water). Regular drinking of aloe vera juice also aids in cholesterol reduction, which benefits heart health. Aside from ingestion, aloe vera gel has a variety of applications. It can be used as a natural skin moisturiser and hair conditioner. It is quite beneficial in the treatment of sunburn. As a result, it is advised to keep aloe vera gel at home so that it is readily available for ingestion and application as needed. On that note, in order to extend the shelf life of aloe vera gel, it must be carefully stored. Because of its pale and strong flavour, many people have difficulty consuming aloe vera juice. As a result, here is a specific sharbat recipe to spice up the juice. In Bangladesh, this sharbat is a popular street item.

Ingredients-

    Aloe Vera leaf- 1

    Lemon juice- 2 tbsp

    Honey- as per taste

    Powdered jaggery- 1 tsp

    Cold Water- three-fourth serving glass/mason jar

    Cumin seeds (jeera)- half tsp

    Dry red chill- half

    Black salt- as per taste

    Chaat masala- half tsp

Method-

  1. The lower part of the aloe vera leaf that oozes a yellowish-coloured gel should be cut off and thrown away. Next, split the leaf in half and scrape the gel from each half.
  2. Fill a mixer grinder with the gel.
  3. Mix well before adding honey, lemon juice, and some powdered jaggery. You can also whisk or hand-blend them in a jar if you don't have a grinder.
  4. Mix again after adding cold water. Set it apart.
  5. On a tawa, roast the jeera and red chilli before coarsely grinding them in a mortar and pestle.
  6. Add the spice blend, black salt, and chaat masala to the juice once it has been poured into a glass or mason jar.
  7. Aloe vera sharbat is ready for serving.
  8. For variety, you can also add fruit juice in place of the water. Because it contains aloe vera gel, this healthy sharbat may taste a little strong in the first two sips, but you'll enjoy it after that.
