It is not the easiest task to be in the middle of a vegetable market, and we are not just talking about the screaming and shouting to get the best bargain. More often than not, there are just too many vegetables around and you are never too sure which among these would prove to be the best pick. Moreover, what should you do with them? Cooking them in hot sabzis is one option, but you know how kids run away from the mere sight of it, hence you have no choice but to think out of the box. Vegetables are a treasure of fibre, minerals, and antioxidants. It is always recommended that you consume a range of different coloured vegetables as they come with their own unique set of benefits. You can even combine them in a vegetable juice like celebrity nutritionist Pooja Makhija, who wrote on her Instagram reel caption that vegetable juices could not only rejuvenate your body but also give your the skin you always dreamt of. She even goes on to the extent of calling them her “famous concoction to natural beauty and botox”.

In the post-pandemic world, most of us are confined to homes, which also means endless bingeing. We have gotten ample amount of time at hand, which means we can make anything that our heart desires and the result is dry, sagging skin. Our skin needs constant care and attention. They say, you are what you eat, so make sure you make some wise choices and keep your pantry filled with vegetables. Eating vegetables could provide a range of antioxidants that help fight free radicals which give your skin a natural boost and make it appear radiant and youthful.

Some suggested combinations according to Pooja are

  • Tomato+Cucumber+Celery
  • Carrot+Spinach+Dudhi or even Bitter Gourd
  • Carrot+Tomato+Capsicum
  • Beetroot+Bell peppers+ kale

If the raw taste of vegetable is bothersome for you, you could steam the vegetables for 10 seconds before juicing it, Makhija wrote in her post. If the taste is too strong for you, flavour enhancers such as mint, coriander leaves, ginger, fresh turmeric, green chilli, dill, basil, parsley, lemon juice could prove to be good additions, she further adds.
