As we get older, we become more aware of the culture and diet around us. Do not stop trusting yourself and your body when eating. When our intuitive dining room closes, other culinary personalities take over.

Understanding the food and its relationship to you is a great tool to help you understand yourself and your relationship to food more clearly. Here are the three types of eaters you can see around you, or maybe you are one of them.

1. Careful/Healthy Eater

Those people who are nutrition-conscious are the ones considered careful eaters. They read food labels carefully, pay close attention to what they are eating in their bodies, and carefully monitor what and how much they eat. If they eat something, they don't consider themselves "nutritious", they end up feeling guilty.

People who eat carefully spend a lot of time wondering what to eat. Anyone who diligently follows: Keto, vegan, high-protein, no-carb, juice, paleo diet are the healthy eaters.

2. Unconscious Eater

Unconscious eating can also be termed mindless eating. Oftentimes, people who don't eat don't know what and why they are eating, usually because they are eating while doing something else.

Don’t we all eat while working, watching TV, driving a car, or talking on the phone? We are so connected and so busy that we don't stop to sit and really pay attention to the food we eat. This ignorance is what makes us unconscious eaters.

3. Emotional Eater

Another very common culinary personality, the emotional eater, uses foods to control their emotions. This could be because they eat out of stress, anxiety, sadness, loneliness or depression. It can also be because they eat out of happiness or joy.

If you eat often when you’re not hungry, you may eat emotionally without realising it.

Our relationship with food is a direct reflection of our relationship to life. If you're struggling with your weight, figure, or eating habits, know what’s good for you. To cope up with these unhealthy eating styles, it’s best to opt for intuitive eating.
