Punjabis know how to eat to the fullest. But we understand that you may want to stick to the classics, such as lassi, sarson da saag and makke di roti. However, we assure you that this fusion meal will also be on your list of favourites as soon as you take a bite! Naanwich and mint lassi make a mind-blowing combination. 

There is nothing boring about this meal. What makes it so unique is the sweet mint lassi, whose refreshing flavours were inspired by the idea of mint yoghurt which is often served with Punjabi food. It is known to tickle tastebuds all over the globe! The naanwich and sweet mint lassi combination will surely be one of those comfort foods that will become a permanent part of your life!

   

Here’s the recipe you can follow -

FOR SWEET MINT LASSI

INGREDIENTS

1 bowl dried mint leaves

1 bowl curd

1 bowl ice cubes

2 teaspoons sugar

METHOD

  • In a blender, combine all the ingredients. 
  • Blend at high speed. 
  • Serve. 

FOR NAANWICH

INGREDIENTS

1 readymade naan

1 bowl boneless chicken pieces

1 packet lettuce leaves

1 bowl beaten yoghurt

1 tablespoon cashew paste

1/4 teaspoon coriander powder

1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder 

1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste 

1 teaspoon vinegar

1 tomato 

1 onion 

1 teaspoon sugar 

3 teaspoons salt 

Oil for frying 

METHOD

  • In a bowl, mix half of the beaten yoghurt, red chilli powder, coriander powder and cashew paste. Make sure that the batter is enough to coat the chicken pieces. 
  • Now dip all the boneless chicken pieces in the batter, and allow them to rest for 2-3 hours. 
  • Afterwards, heat oil in a frying pan, and add the boneless pieces one by one, until they turn golden brown. 
  • Once the chicken pieces are fried, remove from pan. 
  • Now in another pan, pour some oil and wait till it becomes hot. 
  • Put the naan in the oil. Allow both sides to become crispy. 
  • To make relish, dice the tomato and mix vinegar, salt and sugar in it. 
  • For plating, hold a naan like you’d hold a taco. Start filling it up with the chicken pieces, lettuce leaves, tomato relish and the remaining beaten yoghurt.
  • Serve with mint lassi.
