We have all grown up on delicious descriptions of Christmas feasts featuring glazed ham and roast turkey in some of our favourite books. And now Chef Yajush Malik has created a mix of some of these Yuletide classics and some modern interpretations at Gallops Restaurant and Al Fresco, Mumbai, this year. Be it the Lobster Thermidor, Baked Brie, Pappardelle with Forest Mushroom Ragout or the Chocolate Marshmallow Yule Log, each of these festive dishes is available not just at the restaurant but as takeout and home delivery as well.

Gingerbread with a twist
What is Christmas without the traditional gingerbread cookies and mince pies? However, this year, keeping the pandemic in mind, the pastry chefs at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi, have come up with a new variant of the gingerbread cookies. In a playful twist, the gingerbread men have been iced with vibrant red masks, giving the diners a message to not miss out on their social responsibility of wearing masks while enjoying the festivities.

A hamper of joy
ITC Hotels across the country have curated Christmas hampers of rich, gooey, warm desserts, which can be delivered straight to your home. Some of the creations like the toadstool yule cake or the ‘Elves’ Christmas macarons seem to have stepped straight out of an Enid Blyton book.

An Asian Christmas
This year, opt for delicate flavours from southeast Asia to add a unique touch to the Christmas feast. The Fatty Bao in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, is offering some of its signature dishes, such as crispy bacon and cream cheese sushi, crumb fried stuffed chicken with goat cheese and Hong Kong style clay pot for home delivery.

The best things are simple; like the Christmas menu of Delhi-based home chef Tsering Narboo who runs Karakoram Kitchen. Christmas tree shaped pull-apart bread, lamb bourguignon and lemon herb roast chicken are some of the star dishes on home chef Inderpreet Nagpal's festive menu. The owner of Rummy's Kitchen in Mumbai, Nagpal has given a modern twist to Christmas dishes. Say it and check out the home chef venture, Curly Sue Pork in Bengaluru. During the lockdown, they got Bangaloreans to fill their stomach and fridge with pulled pork, pandi curry and bacon jam.
