Indians are habitual of digging into piquant dishes early in the morning (Think: oodles of ghee, malai lassi, etc). If there's one food item which makes a regular appearance on our table, it has to be the paratha. This Indian flatbread is a quintessential breakfast item which is served in various avatars ranging from paneer paratha, aloo paratha, pyaaz paratha and gobi paratha. Paratha is made from whole wheat flour which is then roasted on tawa with a dollop of ghee, butter or oil.

Pizza paratha is lip-smacking cheesy delight, which is made with kneaded dough, which is then stuffed with pizza sauce and Italian seasonings. The medley of elements in this dish will surely entice you, irrespective of your age. Thus, if you want to make your meal more interesting, this pizza paratha can be the right dish for you. Here’s the recipe for the yummy Pizza Paratha.
Ingredients For Dough:
- 1 cup wheat flour (atta)
- A pinch of salt
- Water as required
Ingredients For Stuffing:
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1-2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 green capsicum, finely chopped
- 8-10 olives, sliced
- 8-10 jalapenos, sliced
- salt
Other Ingredients:
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 3 tsp chilli flakes
- 3 tsp Italian mixed herbs (basil, thyme, oregano and sage)
- Oil or ghee
Preparations:
1. Take a bowl and add wheat flour and salt into it. Mix them well, then slowly start adding water while kneading the concoction.
2. When the dough is prepared, divide it into small balls. Take a dough ball, then roll and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin. Prepare the rest of the dough balls like this and keep it aside.
3. Take a tablespoon of pizza sauce and spread it on roti. Layer it with grated cheese, green capsicum, onion, olive, jalapenos, chilli flakes, mixed herbs with a dash of salt.
4. Cover it with another roti and make sure to seal the edges properly. The sauce in the concoction will help to seal the edges, if required you can also use a few drops of water to seal it. Prepare the rest of the parathas like this and keep it aside.
5. After that, heat oil on tawa over medium flame, when the oil is hot, add the pizza paratha and toast it well from both sides. You can also sprinkle grated cheese while roasting the parathas.
6. When both the sides are cooked thoroughly, turn off the flame.
7. Sprinkle some more chilli flakes and mixed herbs on top of the paratha.
