The dessert mania has hit many Bollywood celebrities over the years. While there’s a long list of those who fall under this category, someone who’s topping the charts currently is Karan Johar. The director cum producer has wavered into anchoring, judging and acting scapes too, showing us myriad shades of his personality. One little-known fact is his love for food, especially desserts.
Recently, Karan posted a reel on his Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message about the wrap up of his film shoot with lead actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. At the wrap up, while there were tons of people, there was something else in abundance too. Can you guess? Well, it was a series of cakes. We aren’t kidding. The popular chat show host saw a queue of cakes lined up in front of him. There were some chocolate-flavoured ones, while others had interesting themes. We spotted one with a luxury brand’s theme along with a few vanilla-flavoured cakes on the side.
The happy video along with the emotional caption touched hearts. However, this also reminded us of how big a foodie Karan is. The director has marvelled people with his romantic stories on screen but what strikes a chord with him is food, especially dessert. The true Punjabi foodie cannot miss out on a good Aloo Ka Paratha. At the same time, he also revealed that if calories weren’t an issue, his go-to meals consist of desserts like chocolates, cakes as well as Indian sweets, as per an interview with a leading media publication.
Moreover, his favourite amongst the Indian mithais happens to be Kaju Katli. His sweet tooth also finds a place in the coveted Koffee hamper that he gives away to guests who win the rapid fire round during his chat show. According to a report by a media publication, the hamper contains gadgets like speakers as well as a French press along with some special coffee beans and wait for it, brownies.
Another Indian sweet meat that he really enjoys is barfi. Apart from desserts, the director likes to indulge in Sindhi cuisine once in a while and also likes his Punjabi food like rajma chawal and parathas. Although he doesn’t cook much, he definitely likes to eat and tries to balance his cravings with a healthy diet on a regular basis.
