Summers might have come early but you don’t need to worry about it. Why, you ask? Because we’ve got the best solution to quench your thirst. A mocktail is the easiest way to satisfy your taste buds  and get some relief from the heat. Iced teas, for instance, are a common summer drink that you’d find people sipping on during this season.

The earliest mentions of iced tea can be found in a 19th century cookbook and it is said that the invention of this kind of tea happened by chance. Legend suggests that an Englishman named Richard Blechniden was selling tea at his pavilion at the World Fair 1904. During this time, the town of St. Louis was really hot and the visitors to the fare looked for options beyond the hot Chinese green tea. That’s when Richard popped in a few cubes of ice to his tea glass and served it to the customers.

Little did he know that it would become so popular that the world would start drinking iced tea in tall glasses from then on. If you’re craving an iced tea too, here’s a peachy iced tea that you should try making at home.

Ingredients:

    1 cup organic cane sugar

2-3 tablespoon loose leaf black tea

    1 cup water

    2 ripe peaches

Method:

Start by making a mixture of peaches, sugar and water.

Add all three to a saucepan and stir continuously.

Crush the peaches to extract the juice.

Once done, remove from heat and refrigerate.

Next, take some loose tea and brew it.

After it is brewed, transfer it to a pitcher and let it cool down.

Finally, take a glass and add the sugar syrup on the base.

Pour the tea over it and pop in some ice cubes to enjoy.
