Halloween Special: Mixologists Share Spooky Cocktail Recipes

With the autumn leaves settling and the nights getting darker, everyone knows it’s the time for some trick or treat. The excitement for the spooky festival, right from dressing up as scary characters or putting up candies, is totally worth the hype. To match up to the hype of Halloween, it’s only natural to turn your get-together into a themed party.

To ensure you get the cocktails right the first time, Slurrp interviewed mixologists and experts across the country to get their favourite recipes. With these inspired cocktails, you can have a one-of-a-kind Halloween party.

Blood Orange Devil's Margherita By Kuber Bhatt, Sr. Bartender, The Bluebop Cafe

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml tequila
  • 60 ml orange juice
  • 15 ml triple sec
  • 20 ml simple syrup
  • 30 ml red wine

Instructions:

  1. Shake all the ingredients with ice
  2. Top it up with red wine
  3. Garnish it with two red chillies. 
  4. Serve it with lots of ice in a Margherita glass.

Blood Orange Punch By Kashyap Salla, Founder of Zyto

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml vodka
  • 30 ml blood orange juice
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup
  • Splash of club soda (for fizz)
  • Ice
  • Blood orange slices or cherries (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Place the glass in your freezer for a few minutes. 
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, blood orange juice, lime juice, and simple syrup. 
  3. Shake well with ice. 
  4. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice. 
  5. Top with club soda for some fizziness. 
  6. Add blood orange slices or a few cherries for garnish.

Pumpkin Pie Whisky Sour By Jittin Merani, Co-Founder Of The Glenwalk

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml Glenwalk
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 30 ml pumpkin puree
  • 15 ml sugar syrup
  • whipped cream
  • Garnish - Smoked Star Anise 

Instructions:

  1. Fill the shaker with ice 
  2. Add lime juice, sugar syrup and pumpkin puree
  3. Add The Glenwalk. 
  4. Shake all the ingredients.
  5. Double strain it in a small carved pumpkin with fresh ice or rim a glass with brown sugar
  6. Top up with whipped crème.
  7. Put star anise on top and give it a smoke.

Bloody Kiss By Guneet Singh, FnB Manager At Sesame, Hyatt Centric Juhu

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml Vodka
  • 120 ml Tomato Juice
  • 5 ml Homemade Chilli Paste (a mix of Tabasco, Thai Bird’s Eye chilli, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked chilli)
  • 15 ml Lime Juice

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, combine vodka, tomato juice, and lime juice.
  2. Add the homemade chilli paste and stir well.
  3. Fill a glass with ice and pour the mixture over it.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge or a chili pepper, if desired.
  5. Enjoy your spicy cocktail!

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Activated Charcoal Infused Vodka
  • 15 ml Kahlua
  • 15 ml espresso
  • 3-4 dashes Rosemary Extract

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake until it's frosty
  2. Take a coupe glass and strain the cocktail into it.
  3. Garnish with chocolate spider web and serve.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml vodka
  • 30 ml lychee juice
  • 6 Kaffir Lime Leaves
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 10 ml sugar syrup
  • Garnish - Lychee with Blueberry Eyes

Instructions:

  1. Mix vodka, lychee juice, lime juice, sugar syrup, and Kaffir lime leaves in a shaker.
  2. Strain it into a cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with lychee blueberry eyes and raise a glass to a night of spooktacular sips and unforgettable scares.
