The world is full of possibilities. Seems like the coffee addicts took it very seriously. Bat spit coffee and cat poop coffee are proof. And we aren’t joking. The freshly brewed coffee beans are being increasingly replaced by such interesting varieties. Cafes that used to smell of aromatic caffeine might now have cat poop lying around and you shouldn’t be surprised.
Here are four strange types of coffee from around the world that might take your brain for a toss.
1. Puke coffee
Wait for your coffee order as the weasels eat those coffee beans and then puke them out to brew a delicious (or not so delicious) coffee for y’all. Just thank your stars if you don’t have to witness this Vietnamese process of coffee-making. These coffee beans are processed to be sold off as a special variety in the market.
2. Luwak coffee
Can you believe that the world’s most expensive coffee is actually made of faeces? If you think we are kidding, we aren’t. These Indonesian beans are considered to have a special flavour, all thanks to civet cats who generally feed on the coffee grown in plantations. Their poop is believed to enhance the taste of coffee and make us feel alive, well we aren’t sure about that now.
3. Bat spit coffee
Another kind of animal-enhanced coffee is bat spit coffee. This new variation was born in Madagascar and is made of coffee called Bourbon pointu. Wild bats are made to chew these beans and the end result is a smooth coffee flavour. The bat spit interacts with air and lends it this taste, which makes it an expensive buy.
4. Monkey spit coffee
After reading this, you would definitely wonder when did an animal spit become so tasty? Found in Taiwan, a special breed of monkeys are made to bite the coffee beans and the spit out seeds and processed into exotic coffee beans.
Are you looking at your coffee mug, wondering where did this come from? Don’t worry as along as its tasty, I guess!
