Every festival brings joy, happiness, quality time with family and friends and of course, the opportunity to get indulge in a scrumptious feast. It's time for Eid-ul-Adha! Also known as Bakra Eid, Eid-ul-Adha is a festival of sacrifice which follows a ritual in which Muslims use’s sacrificial lamb ‘s meat in the food and organize a feast with their family, friends, close ones and the needy. Even though meat takes the center stage, no festival is complete without meetha. Isn't it?

Sheer Khurma 

Sheer Khurma is synonymous with Eid celebrations. Apart from preparing some delicious main courses after the distribution of meat among its people and the needy, Muslim families also have a ritual of cooking Sheer Khurma. This creamy vermicelli pudding is not just loved in India but in many parts of the world. It has the goodness of ghee, milk and nuts. It is rich in taste and truly has knitted a lot of hearts together.

Shahi Tukda 

Shahi Tukda is a classic and popular Eid dessert served on special occasions like Eid as well as weddings. Also known as Double ka Meetha, this dessert is made up of bread dipped in desi ghee and soaked in rabri or condensed milk. When topped with dry fruits and nuts, this dessert can really show you a good time.  It is easy to make and too scrumptious to handle.  

Knafeh 

Not your regular, but this classic Eid dessert is a common specialty among the Middle Eastern people. Especially in the Levant cultures, Knafeh is one of the top Eid pics. Made up of shredded phyllo dough paired with slices of white cheese, such as Nabulsi or Akkawi cheese, this sweet treat is served with a drizzle of fragrant sugar syrup. It appears like a rectangular slab of cake and even available in India these days. Don’t forget to try it this year! 

Firni 

Phirni or Firni is yet another scrumptious and classic dessert to have on Eid-ul-Adha. This delicious milk-based rice dessert is thick, creamy, rich and irresistibly delicious. With the goodness and richness of nuts, this one dessert can leave a lasting impact on your taste buds. Believe me!  

Baklava 

A dessert popular amongst Turkish, Arabic and Iranian people, Baklava is a traditional Eid delight, rich in flavours as well as texture. This is basically a layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry sheets and a good amount of butter. Filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup or honey, this traditional sweet has layers of dough with pistachios, walnuts and almonds. Baklava is often served with a topping of kaymak in some parts of Turkey. Ever tried it before??
