The past few years have seen a gradual increase in demand for plant-based alternatives. A large number of people are turning towards sustainable living which includes switching to a plant-based or a complete vegan diet. Several celebs across the world too have gone the vegan way and have promoted it on several occasions. The increase in trend have also led to several food brands and restaurants into introducing plant-based and vegan alternatives.
We told you about a Burger King outlet in Germany turning vegan for a week, now Burger King Singapore has gone a step ahead and launched a plant-based burger! After successfully launching plant-based and vegan options in the United States and Europe earlier this year, Burger King Singapore introduced another meatless option to its extensive menu. After receiving several requests from local patrons to introduce plant-based ‘Whopper’ in Singapore, the burger chain launched the option. They took to their Instagram and Facebook pages to announce the initiative and said, "The wait is over...better late than sorry". Take a look at what the fast-food chain posted:
;
"Those who plant seeds are the ones who harvest taste." said the post that left many fans excited as users appreciated the step. An Instagram user said “This is nice! Love the plant-based burger!”, while another said, “So good BK”.
This is the second time Burger King has impressed its customers this month with their bid towards plant-based diet. Earlier in June, an outlet of Burger King Germany went 100 percent meat-free for a week, becoming the first plant-based Burger King outlet to do so in the world. Besides vegan whopper, plant-based nuggets, vegan wraps and more the outlet at Schildergasse in Cologne also had vegan ice creams for dessert.
