3 Fruits That May Help Reduce Indigestion

1. Grapes 

These fruity bulbs have an impressive nutrient profile. Besides being a storehouse of antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium, 100 grams serving of grapes contain 4 grams of fibre, as per USDA. Fibre is known to increase bulk in our stool and helps the food to pass smoothly through the digestive tract. One can eat grapes as is, juice it or add it to a salad.  

2. Oranges 

Another fibre-rich fruit, orange is enriched with the soluble fibre - pectin. It helps accelerate colonic transit time and also reduces constipation. It also contains a flavanol called naringenin, which researchers say, can work like a laxative. Besides eating as is, you can juice oranges or add it to your salads or chaats. 

3. Papaya 

A fruit with multiple health benefits, papaya’s ability to ease digestion is well-known. But this sweet tropical fruit has many qualities. Besides being rich in vitamin K, vitamin A, beta-carotene and calcium, papaya has a special enzyme called papain that reduces heart burn and helps in improving digestion. It is best eaten chopped with a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of lemon juice, but you are free to juice it or add it to your salads. Papaya sabzi is also very common in Indian cuisine.
