Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes. Drain the water.
  • STEP 2.In a large saucepan, bring the milk to a boil.
  • STEP 3.Add the soaked rice to the boiling milk and simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • STEP 4.After the rice is cooked and the mixture thickens, add sugar and saffron strands.
  • STEP 5.Continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the kheer reaches the desired consistency.
  • STEP 6.Remove from heat and let it cool. Garnish with chopped nuts.
  • STEP 7.Serve the Zafrani Kheer chilled or warm.
