Zaatar manakish is a Lebanese flat bread.Zaater is a spice mix made with thyme, pepper, oregano, seasame and olive oil which is used as a topping on the bread .

Ingredients for Zaatar Manakish Recipe

  • 0-125 gms All-purpose flour
  • 75 ml warm water -
  • 0-1 nos Olive oiltbsp
  • 1/2 tsp Dry Yeast -
  • 0-1/2 tsp Salt
  • 0-1/2 tsp Sugar
  • As required Ingredients for zaatar:
  • 3/4 tbsp Thyme- and
  • 1/2 tbsp Seasame seeds black-
  • 1/2 tbsp Seasame seeds.white-
  • 3/4 tbsp Oregano - and
  • 0.13 tsp Crushed pepper -
  • 1.50 tbsp Olive oil-

Directions: Zaatar Manakish Recipe

  • STEP 1.For the dough:Take a bowl and add warm water,yeast and sugar and mix well and keep aside for 10 minutes.After 10 minutes add,all purpose flour,salt and oil and make a soft dough and keep aside for 1 hour or till it doubles in size
  • STEP 2.Mix all the ingredients of zaatar in olive oil and keep aside.Divide the dough into 4 small balls and roll out into medium thick rounds and transfer to a parchment lined baking tray.Top with the zaatar mix and leave aside for 15mins.Bake in a preheated oven at 200 for 10 to 12 mins.
