  • 0.17 cup Urad Dal
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak whole ragi and urad dal separately for 4-6 hours.
  • STEP 2.Grind the soaked ragi and urad dal separately to a smooth batter.
  • STEP 3.Mix the ragi and urad dal batter together and add salt. Ferment overnight.
  • STEP 4.Grease the idli plates with oil and pour the batter into each cavity.
  • STEP 5.Steam the idlis in a steamer for 10-12 minutes or until cooked through.
  • STEP 6.Remove the idlis from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes.
  • STEP 7.Gently remove the idlis from the plates using a spoon and serve hot.
  • STEP 8.Store any leftover idlis in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
