STEP 1.1. firstly, take a bowl and place clean cotton cloth.
STEP 2.2. Add in wheat flour and cover tightly by folding the cloth.
STEP 3.3. Place into the cooker to steam for 15 minutes without putting on the whistle.
STEP 4.now open the cooker and see the flour would have hardened.
STEP 5.4. Break the lumps and sieve to prevent any lumps. the flour should be slightly warm while siving.
STEP 6.5. Add in cumin, turmeric, chilli powder, pinch hing and salt.
STEP 7.6. Mix well making sure the spices are well combined.
STEP 8.7. Add ½ cup water and knead the dough.
STEP 9.knead to a smooth and soft dough adding water as required.
STEP 10.8.Now take star mould and fix to the chakli maker.
STEP 11.9. Grease the chakli maker with some oil. this prevents dough from sticking to mould.
STEP 12.furthermore, make a cylindrical shape out of dough and place the dough inside the maker.
STEP 13.10. Tighten the lid and start preparing chaklis.
STEP 14.11. On the wet cloth or butter paper make small spiral shape chaklis by pressing.
STEP 15.seal the ends so that it doesn’t fall apart while deep frying.
STEP 16.12. Take one murukku/Chakli at a time and slide it into the hot oil. or bake in a preheated oven at 180-degree celsius for 15 minutes.
STEP 17.13. Flip the murukku and fry on medium flame till they turn crispy from both sides.
STEP 18.furthermore, drain over a paper towel to remove excess oil.
STEP 19.14. Finally, once cooled enjoy aate ki chakli or store in an airtight container for 2 weeks.
