Jai Mahakal. being a born and brought up in Ujjain. I am mahakal baba follower since childhood. And doing shivratri fast from i dont know... actually.its a ritual in ujjain to do fast on mahashivratri. lots of dishes are prepared. sharing here Ujjain ki sabudana khichdi, kadhi and khopra pettice sabudana khichdi is prepared everywhere. but in Ujjain its method is little bit different. It is cooked on steam. Sabudana khchdi is normally served with other accompaniments in fast , like rajgira puri, kadhi, aloo ki sabji , aloo pattice kheer etc. i also prepare many dishes for shivratri fast. For our Mahakal Baba.

Ingredients for Vrat ki khichdi kadhi aur pattice Recipe

  • As required For sabudana khichdi:
  • 1/4 cup Sabudana
  • 1/4 nos Potato boiled
  • 0.13 cup roasted peanuts powder
  • 1/2 nos green chillies
  • 0.06 cup Coriender
  • As required kadhi patta
  • As required Rock Salt to taste
  • As required Lemon to serve
  • As required Suagr to taste
  • 1/4 nos Red chilli powder tspn
  • As required For kadhi:
  • 0.13 cup Rajgira atta
  • 0.13 cup Curd
  • 1/2 nos green chillies
  • 1/4 nos Red chilli powder tspn
  • As required Rock salt
  • As required kadhi patta
  • As required Coriander
  • As required For pattice:
  • 1/2 nos boiled potato
  • 0.13 cup arraroot powder
  • As required Rock salt
  • 0.13 cup khopra bura
  • 0.13 cup Coriender
  • 1/2 nos green chillies
  • 0-1/4 nos kaju chopped
  • 0-1/4 nos Kismis
  • As required peanut oil for Deep fry
  • As required ghee for tadka of khichdi and kadhi

Directions: Vrat Ki Khichdi Kadhi Aur Pattice Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. for khichdi soak sabudana for 4 hours,
  • STEP 2.2. In a pan add ghee, jeera , kadhi patta and chopped green chillies.
  • STEP 3.3. add chopped pr mashed boil potatoes mix well and cook for 5 minutes on slow flame
  • STEP 4.4. add salt and red chilli powder ( red chilli powder must be home made without haldi and sarso oil)
  • STEP 5.5. add sabudana and peanuts mix well and finally add sugar .
  • STEP 6.6. keep water in a large pan and keep the khichdi pan over it for steaming minimum 1 hour.
  • STEP 7.7. garnish with coriander and serve
  • STEP 8.8. For kadhi, mix rajgira, curd and salt
  • STEP 9.9. prepare tadka with ghee , green chilly, jeera and kadhi patta
  • STEP 10.10. add rajgira mix and water for for thin kadhi cook it on slow flame for 15to 20 minutes
  • STEP 11.11 . For pattice mash potatoes and add arraroot powder and salt.make a dough
  • STEP 12.12. mix khopra bura, coriender , salt, green chillies, cashew and kismis.
  • STEP 13.13. stuff in a small size potato ball and make a ball again', deep fry till it turns red.
  • STEP 14.14. serve hot with vrat ki dahi coriander ki vrat wali chutney
