  • STEP 1.Heat a pan and dry roast urad dal until it turns golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add grated coconut, dried red chilies, tamarind, and salt to the pan. Roast for a few more minutes.
  • STEP 3.Allow the mixture to cool and then grind it into a smooth paste using a blender or mixer.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and hing. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 5.Pour the tempering over the chutney and mix well.
  • STEP 6.Serve the Urad Dal Chutney with dosa, idli, or vada.
