Directions: Upside Down Peach Cobbler Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and 1/2 cup of sugar. Spread this mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  • STEP 2.In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and 1/2 cup of sugar. Spread this mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  • STEP 3.In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and milk until a smooth batter forms.
  • STEP 4.Pour the batter over the melted butter and sugar mixture in the baking dish. Arrange the sliced peaches on top of the batter, distributing them evenly.
  • STEP 5.Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  • STEP 6.Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes after taking it out of the oven. Place a serving plate upside down over the baking dish and carefully flip the cobbler onto the plate. The peach layer will now be on top.

Cooking Tips

  • Enhance the flavour of your cobbler by adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter. These warm spices complement the sweetness of the peaches.
  • Experiment with different varieties of peaches or mix yellow and white peaches for a diverse flavour profile. Each variety brings its own unique sweetness and texture to the cobbler.

Serving Tips

  • For a charming presentation, consider baking the cobbler in individual ramekins. Each person gets their own personal-sized upside-down peach cobbler.
  • Garnish each serving with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, a drizzle of honey, or a few fresh mint leaves to add a touch of elegance and extra flavour.
