A classic south indian breakfast recipe made with bombay rava or sooji with assorted spices and herbs. it is perhaps one of the simple and underrated easy breakfast recipes made within minutes and can be served to all age groups. the traditional way is to make it with sooji and fresh herbs, but it can be extended by adding spice mixes and choice vegetables to make it more flavourful.

Ingredients for Uppittu upma (vegetable suji Upma 😋 Recipe

  • 0.33 g for vegetable upma
  • 0.67 tbsp â–¢2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 0.33 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 0.33 tsp Urad dal
  • 0.33 tsp Chana dal
  • 0.33 Tbsp Dried red chilli 1
  • 0.67 tbsp Peanuts
  • 0.67 A Few Curry leaves- few
  • 0.33 Pieces carrot finely chopped
  • 1.67 Pieces Beans
  • 1 tbsp Peas
  • 0.17 Tsp lemon juice 😋
  • 0.33 cup cup Rava / suji / semolina
  • 0.33 tsp Ghee
  • 0.67 tbsp Coriander leaves

Directions: Uppittu Upma (vegetable Suji Upma 😋 Recipe

  • STEP 1.firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil. splutter ¾ tsp mustard, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp urad dal, 1 tsp chana dal, 1 dried red chilli and few curry leaves.
  • STEP 2.add 2 tbsp peanuts and fry until it turns crunchy.
  • STEP 3.further add ½ onion, 2 chilli and saute until the onions soften slightly.
  • STEP 4.additionally, add 1 carrot, ½ capsicum, 5 beans, 3 tbsp peas and saute for a minute.
  • STEP 5.now add ½ tsp turmeric and 1 tsp salt. saute on low flame until the spices turn aromatic.
  • STEP 6.further, add 3 cup of water and get the water to a rolling boil.
  • STEP 7.now keep stirring in one hand and add 1 cup rava slowly.
  • STEP 8.make sure to keep stirring to prevent lump formation.
  • STEP 9.cover and simmer for 2 minutes or until the rava absorb all the water.
  • STEP 10.add 1 tsp ghee and 2 tbsp coriander. mix well.
  • STEP 11.finally, enjoy vegetable uppittu with coconut chutney.
