Ingredients for Tomato sev Recipe

  • As required tomato (chopped)
  • 1/2 gram cup besan /flour
  • 0.13 nos cup rice flour
  • 0.13 nos Tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 nos tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • As required pinch hing / asafoetida
  • 1/4 nos Tsp salt
  • 1/2 nos tbsp butter (softened)
  • 0.13 nos tsp Carom Seeds / Ajwain
  • As required Water for kneading
  • As required Oil for deep fry

Directions: Tomato Sev Recipe

  • STEP 1.First grind tomato to a smooth paste without adding any water.
  • STEP 2.In a large bowl sieve 2 cup besan, ½ cup rice flour, ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, pinch hing and 1 tsp salt.
  • STEP 3.Sieve well making sure there are no lumps.
  • STEP 4.Further add 2 tbsp butter, ½ tsp carom seeds and mix well.
  • STEP 5.Sieve the prepared tomato paste to get rid of skin and seeds.
  • STEP 6.Mix well making sure everything is well combined.
  • STEP 7.Add water as required and knead to soft dough.
  • STEP 8.Take the fine holes mould and grease the chakli maker.
  • STEP 9.Stuff in ball sized dough into the press.
  • STEP 10.Further, press and spread the sev in hot oil forming a circle in the oil and make sure you do not overlap.
  • STEP 11.fry until golden brown colour...
