Recipe By Better Butter

Many south indian rasams are based on tomatoes. Typical rasam is made with little tamarind extract, tomatoes and seasoned with pepper, curry leaves, asafoedita and coriander leaves. This rasam is also with basic ingredients, but i have skipped the tamarind extract and rasam powder.

Ingredients for Tomato rasam Recipe

  • 1/2 tomatoes chopped
  • 0.13 teaspoon asafoetdia powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Sugar
  • As required few curry leaves
  • As required coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 3/4 tablespoon Oil
  • As required Salt
  • As required For semi coarse paste:(grind the pepper, cumin and garlic semi coarsely without any water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 2.50 garlic cloves with skin
  • 1/4 tomato chopped
  • As required For Seasoning
  • 0.06 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 0.06 teaspoon urad dal
  • 0.06 teaspoon Fenugreek
  • 1/2 dried red chillies
