A simple and flavoured rice or pulao recipe cooked with tomatoes, onions and capsicum. It is cooked in butter with some spices and seasoning ingredients.
STEP 2.In a blender take 2tbsp coconut, 3 dried red chilies, 3 garlic cloves, 1 inch ginger, 1 tsp fennel, 1 tsp cumin and 1 tsp coriander seeds.
STEP 3.Add ¼ cup water and blend to smooth paste and keep aside.
STEP 4.In a cooker heat 2 tbsp of ghee and add 1 bay leaf, 1 inch cinnamon, 4 pods cardamom, 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
STEP 5.Saute on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
STEP 6.Add ½ onion and saute until onion is cooked.
STEP 7.Add 2 tomatoes and saute until it turns soft
STEP 8.Now add in the prepared masala paste and cook for 2 minutes.
STEP 9.Add 3 tbsp peas, ½ capsicum, ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp garam masala and 1 tsp salt.
STEP 10.Saute for 1-2 minutes until it turns aromatic.
STEP 11.Add 2 cup water and get to a boil.
STEP 12.Add 1 cup basmati rice, 2 tbsp coriander and mix well.
STEP 13.Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistles on medium flame.
STEP 14.Serve on a plate and enjoy.
