A traditional Gujarati snack prepared from gram flour dough mixed with spices. A sphaghetti maker is used to give it the proper shape and then it is fried for crunch. Can be enjoyed with tea and coffee.

Ingredients for Tikka Ghathiya Recipe

  • 2 cup Gramflour
  • 1 tablespoon Carrom seeds
  • As required Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • As required Oil  for cooking
  • 1 cup Water

Directions: Tikka Ghathiya Recipe

  • STEP 1.Take a pan and add a cup of water in it and add a tablespoon of oil in it. Let it boil.
  • STEP 2.Take a plate and add 2 cups of gramflour, make sure its lump free. Add carrom seeds, a spoon of kashmiri red chilli powder and add salt to taste. Mix using your hand and then add the boiling water to make a dough. Make a stiff dough by adding little by little water and kneading till it changes its colour. Make it soft.
  • STEP 3.Before cooking the gathiya make sure you grease your hands.
  • STEP 4.Use a sphaghetti maker to make the strings of ghathiya.
  • STEP 5.Take a deep frying pan and add oil.  now drop the dough by rubbing the dough on it. Make sure you grease the zara maker.
  • STEP 6.Fry ghathiya on medium flame. Wait till they turn light in colour. The ghaathiya is ready. Serve with chillies.
