Ingredients for Temple Style Tamarind Rice Recipe

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 8 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Tamarind Mix
  • 30 gram Tamarind Big lemon size
  • 4 tablespoon Cooking Oil
  • 3 tablespoon Ground But
  • 2 teaspoon Gram Dal
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 6 Red Chillies
  • 3 Green Chillies
  • 2 sprig Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida Powder
  • 2.75 As required Salt or tsp
  • As required For Masala Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Urad Dal
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon White Sesame Seeds

Directions: Temple Style Tamarind Rice Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak the rice in water for 30 mins

step 2

  • STEP 2.Take 2 cups of water, soaked rice and 1 tsp of oil in a pressure cooker

step 3

  • STEP 3.Cook upto 3 whistle

step 4

  • STEP 4.Soak the tamarind for 30 mins and squeeze out the pulp and seeds

step 5

  • STEP 5.Heat the pan with oil

step 6

  • STEP 6.Add 2 tbsp of ground nut and fry on medium flame

step 7

  • STEP 7.Add chana dal,urad dal, mustard seeds,2 red chilies, green chilies and curry leaves

  • STEP 8.Add tamarind water and turmeric powder

step 9

  • STEP 9.Add salt to taste and keep aside

step 10

  • STEP 10.Dry roasted gram dal,urad dal,coriander leaves, dry red chilies,sesame seeds

step 11

  • STEP 11.Make a dry paste of it

step 12

  • STEP 12.Heat a pan with oil

step 13

  • STEP 13.Add turmeric powder

step 14

  • STEP 14.Mix it with the rice

  • STEP 15.Add the dry masala powder prepared and mix well

step 16

  • STEP 16.Add the tamarind mixture and mix well

step 17

  • STEP 17.Serve as main course
