Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
  • STEP 3.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.In a separate bowl, combine gram flour, wheat flour, spices, and oil to make a dough.
  • STEP 5.Shape the dough into small dumplings and steam them until cooked.
  • STEP 6.Add the steamed muthia to the tomato gravy and simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

  • You can add grated coconut or sesame seeds to the muthia dough for added flavor.
