Tamarind Chicken is a tangy flavoured sweet and sour chicken. It best compliments with rice. Its completely different from usual recipes of chicken. Its yummilacious in taste.
STEP 1.Heat oil in a pan. Fry the bay leaves and whole spice. Add onions and saute them till they turn slightly pinkish in hue. Then add the ginger-garlic paste, red chillies, turmeric powder, coriander powder, sugar and salt. Stir well all these ingredients.
STEP 2.Now, add the chicken pieces. Cook for sometime. Add tomatoes. Cover the lid & cook till chicken becomes tender. Add the tamarind paste. Stir once again until evenly mixed. Add little water & cover the pan for few minutes.
STEP 3.Remove when the chicken is cooked properly and the curry has turned brown and thickened a bit. Garnish with cilantro leaves.
STEP 4.Serve the Tamarind Chicken with steamed rice. The flavour of tamarind goes well when paired with steamed rice & it is altogether a different culinary experience.
