Ingredients for Taktouka Recipe

  • 1 green pepper
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Water

Directions: Taktouka Recipe

  • STEP 1.Preparing the vegetable, start by dicing the onion, tomatoes, and green pepper.

  • STEP 2.In a cooking pan on medium flame, add some olive oil, then add the diced onions, garlic, and all the spices, saute them for about 5 mins and mix everything well.

  • STEP 3.Cover the pan with a lid and let the onions cook for another 5 minutes, during this time check on the onions occasionally to avoid burning them.

  • STEP 4.Now add the tomatoes to the pan and stir with the onions, cover the pan for another 10 minutes and let the onions and tomatoes caramelize.

  • STEP 5.Add the green pepper to the pan, keep stirring, and let it cook for 20 minutes. During this time keep stirring now and then to avoid burning the vegetables.

  • STEP 6.The taktouka is ready to serve when the mixture is dry and the pepper is cooked.
