This is one dish i love making on weekends. Bengalis rely on quick to make but very tasty and rich lunch specialities. Here is a part of the lunch that is served often at my home, 'gurjali fish' in a sweet and sour spicy tamarind gravy.
Ingredients for Sweet and sour tamarind fish Recipe
2 piece lengthwise Gurjali fish
As required salt as needed
1-1.25 tablespoon mustard oil
1/2 medium sized onions ground to a fine paste
1/4 Potato
1.50 green chiliies
0.13 teaspoon turmeric powder
0.13 teaspoon red chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic ginger paste each
As required water as needed
1/4 teaspoon instant tamarind paste
1/4 teaspoon half sugar
