Tasty fried cubes of Cod fish, tossed with green peppers and tomato in a sweet and tangy tomato based sauce.Sweet and Sour Fish is a very popular dish in China, and it’s almost always served as a whole fish. The dish tends to be quite expensive, as it’s usually straight out of a live fish tank and served with a pretty fancy presentation.

  • 3 No.s Cod fillet cut into cubes
  • 2 No.s Green peppers
  • 2 No.s Tomato
  • 4 No.s Garlic cloves chopped
  • 1/2 piece Ginger chopped
  • 2 No.s Spring onions
  • 1 flakes Chili tsp
  • 1 bunch Coriander
  • 3 tablespoon Cornflour
  • As required Ingredients for sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 100 milliliter Water
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato puree
  • 4 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Corn flour

Directions: Sweet And Sour Fish Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.place 3 fillets of cod fish cut into cubes, in a mixing bowl.
  • STEP 1.add 3 tsp of cornflour and mix to coat the fish well.
  • STEP 2.for the sauce, in a small mixing bowl add 2 tsp tomato puree, 1 tsp sugar, 4 tsp vinegar, 4 tsp dark soy sauce, 1 tsp corn flour and mix together well. gradually add 100 ml water while mixing the sauce. in a wok heat 1 tsp oil, add ½ cm chopped ginger ,4 cloves chopped garlic, 2 chopped spring onions, 1 tsp chili flakes and fry for a few seconds.
  • STEP 3.pour in the prepared sauce mixture and bring to a boil. add salt to taste, stir and remove from the heat. heat 1 litre oil in another wok and add the fish cubes. Fry till light brown.
  • STEP 4.then remove and drain the fish. bring the sauce back to the boil and add 2 green peppers and 2 tomatoes cut into small bite size pieces, add a small bunch ( or as desired) of chopped coriander and stir fry for 1 minute. add the fried cubes of fish and gently turn over all the ingredients in the wok to ensure that the fish get well coated with the sauce. turn off the heat and transfer to a serving dish.
