  • 1/4 pound Ground beef
  • 0.13 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 Large egg beaten
  • 0.13 Onion, grated
  • 0.06 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 0.13 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Beef broth
  • 1/4 pint Heavy cream
  • 1/4 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.63 cup Egg noodles
  • 0.38 cup shredded (parmesan or any other cheese of your choice)
  • As required Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • As required Fresh parsley, chopped, for serving

Directions: Swedish Meatball Noodle Bake Recipe

Cooking Instructions

  • STEP 1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, salt, pepper, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
  • STEP 2.Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a bit of oil. Cook the meatballs until they are browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
  • STEP 3.In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture turns light brown and forms a roux.
  • STEP 4.Slowly pour in the beef broth and heavy cream while whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Continue to cook and stir until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Preheat your oven to 175°C. In a large baking dish, combine the cooked egg noodles, cooked meatballs, and the creamy sauce. Gently toss everything together to coat.
  • STEP 6.In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the noodle and meatball mixture. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling.

  • You can use ground beef or a mix of pork and beef.
