STEP 1.Wash the green gram and put it into a pressure cooker. Add 2cup water and close the cooker.
STEP 2.Turn on the flame and cook the green grams in the pressure cooker. Turn off the flame after 5-6 whistles.
STEP 3.Take maida in a bowl. Add 2 tbsp rice flour, salt to taste, ¼ tsp turmeric powder.
STEP 4.Gradually add water and mix well to prepare the batter. The consistency of batter should be the same as of idli batter.
STEP 5.After the green gram/mung gram cools down. Heat a pan and add the cooked green gram, ¾ cup sugar, grated coconut and cardamom powder. Mix it well. Turn off the flame after 5 mins.
STEP 6.After the mixture cools down. Make small balls out of the mixture.
STEP 7.Heat oil in a pan.
STEP 8.Dip the balls into the batter in such a way that it covers all the sides of the ball. Gently put into the hot oil. Fry the balls.
STEP 9.Repeat step 8 for the rest of the balls.
STEP 10.Sukhiyan is ready to be served.
