Ingredients for Stuffed Sabudana vada (sago) chat (roasted) Recipe

  • 1.38 cup boiled and mashed Potatoes
  • As required Sago ( Sabudana) ½ cup
  • 1/2 nos Soaked in water for hour
  • 5 nos dried on cloth for minutes and mashed well
  • As required Groundnut powder ½ cup
  • 1/2 teaspoon green chilli paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar powder
  • As required salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder ( use as per taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander leaves chopped
  • As required For filling-
  • As required Groundnuts (roasted) ½ cup
  • As required Fox Nuts (Makhana) ( roasted)( cut into halves) ½ cup
  • As required Potato sticks ½ cup
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 3.50 nos Curry leaves to
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • As required salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder ( use as per taste)
  • As required Other ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon Oil for roasting
  • 1 tablespoon green coriander chutney
  • 1 tablespoon Dates (khajoor) chutney
  • 1/2 nos Masala Dahi/ yogurt (mixed with Jeera powder and chopped coriander leaves teaspoon)

Directions: Stuffed Sabudana Vada (sago) Chat (roasted) Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add mashed potatoes and sabudana, Add groundnut powder, salt, green chilli paste, sugar, red chilli powder , coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  • STEP 2.Mix well. Roll out tilkkis (balls) out of it.
  • STEP 3.In a nonstick pan add oil, curry leaves, fennel seeds, sesame seeds. Let it splutter.
  • STEP 4.Add red chilli powder. Add fox nuts, ground nuts and potato sticks.
  • STEP 5.Add salt and sugar. Mix well. Let it cook for 2 minutes, stir continuously.
  • STEP 6.Transfer it to a plate let it cool down. Crush it coarsely in a blender.
  • STEP 7.Grease your palm with oil, fill the filling in potato ball as shown in video
  • STEP 8.Add oil to a nonstick pan, roast the stuffed sabudana vada till golden brown on both sides.
  • STEP 9.Transfer them to a plate.
  • STEP 10.Serving-
  • STEP 11.In a serving plate cut the vada into half, add green chutney, dates chutney, masala dahi.
  • STEP 12.Sprinkle filling of foxnuts and groundnut to get the crunch
  • STEP 13.Delicious chat is ready to serve. You can eat the vada too.
