I like to bake a ham just so I can use the leftover bone to make my split pea soup. After moving to New Mexico a few years ago, I discovered folks here put peppers or chilies in almost everything. So I decided to add some to this soup.

  • 0.40 Chicken Bouillon Cubes
  • 0.30-1/2 can Medium anaheim peppers, roasted, peeled, seeded and chopped or 2 to 3 chopped green chilies
  • 1/5 Medium carrots, sliced
  • 1/5 Celery ribs, sliced
  • 1/10 Medium onion, chopped
  • 1/10 Garlic clove, minced
  • 0.15 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.03 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/100 teaspoon Ground Cumin
