A flavourful seafood salad of shrimp and squid tossed with crunchy vegetables with a spicy tangy dressing and sweet flavours of pineapple. This quick and easy spicy seafood salad is the perfect five-minute appetizer, snack or this have been hooked on this salad for a few months. You can eat it as a light dinner/lunch with either these low carb lavash kebab or sliced up veggies. Serve it as a dip for a party with crackers and veggies.

Ingredients for Spicy Seafood Salad Recipe

  • As required Ingredients for salad dressing
  • 2 tablespoon Fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 1 No.s Garlic Clove
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1.50 tablespoon Lemongrass
  • 3-4 No.s Hot chillies
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander leaves

  • 170 gram Shrimp
  • 170 gram Squid
  • 1.50 cup Cabbage
  • 1/2 cup Tomato
  • 1/2 cup Cucumber
  • 1/4 cup Onion
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple
  • 2 tablespoon Thai basil
  • 2 tablespoon Mint leaves

Directions: Spicy Seafood Salad Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 peel, devein and wash 6 oz of shrimp.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 wash and cut 6 oz of squid into small pieces

step 3

  • STEP 3.1 add oil to a wok and let it get hot.

step 4

  • STEP 4.2 add 6 oz cleaned shrimp and 6 oz squid cut into small pieces and stri on high heat till the shrimp turns pink. Take it out of the wok and keep aside to cool.

  • STEP 5.3 for the dressing, in a small mixing bowl add 2 tbsp fish sauce, 2 tbsp lime juice, 1 tbsp water, 1 smashed clove of garlic, 1 tsp sugar, 1 ½ tbsp finely minced lemongrass, 3 to 4 whole hot chilies, or as per taste, that have been crushed with the back of the knife to release their flavour without the seeds escaping and 2 tbsp diced coriander.mix together and keep aside for all the ingredients to infuse.

step 6

  • STEP 6.4 in a large mixing bowl add 1 ½ cup shredded cabbage, ½ cup chopped tomato, ½ cup chopped cucumber, ¼ cup chopped onion, ½ cup chopped pineapple .

step 7

  • STEP 7.5to this add the cooked seafood which has completely cooled. Do not add any liquid from the seafood.

step 8

  • STEP 8.6 add 2 tbsp chopped thai basil and 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves.

step 9

  • STEP 9.7 pour in the salad dressing and toss together well.

step 10

  • STEP 10.8 spicy seafood salad is ready.
