Did you know that French toast isn't really of French origin? Yes, that is true. French toast was actually a Roman invention, wherein the bread was soaked in a mixture of milk and butter and fried. This crispy and fried toast preapartion was a type of sweet dish in the 5th century in the Roman Empire. The addition of eggs happened much later when the idea reached the French and they started transforming Pain Romaine into Pain perdu. Here, the idea was to make use of old and stale bread and give it a fresh make over. A mixture of milk, eggs and butter is whipped and the stale bread is dipped in it before cooking. Today, you've got a variety of French toast variations due to globalisation. This is an easy and quick recipe to prepare. This quick delicious toast is prepared with chicken in French style. Prepared with many ingredients, this chicken french toast is Spicy in taste.

Ingredients for Spicy Chicken French Toast Recipe

  • 1 Chicken Breast
  • 6 Garlic Cloves
  • As required Some mint leaves
  • As required Some coriander leaves
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 flakes Chilli tbsp
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon Black pepper powder
  • 3/4 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 Small cube cheese
  • As required Some white flour
  • As required Butter
  • As required Half lemon juice

Steps To Prepare

  • STEP 1.Chop loads of coriander and garlic before hand.
  • STEP 2.Clean the chicken and poke holes into the chicken breast.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Chop garlic cloves, coriander & mint leaves.
  • STEP 2.Flatten the chicken breast and grate the cheese cube.
  • STEP 3.In a bowl, take egg yolk, add chilli flakes, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and salt.
  • STEP 4.Add grated cheese, mint leaves and mix well.
  • STEP 5.Dab the chicken from both the sides with white flour.
  • STEP 6.Add butter in a pan. Dip the chicken in the egg mixture and pan-fry.
  • STEP 7.Roast well at low flame. Apply butter on both sides and roast. Flip and roast every five minutes.
  • STEP 8.Cook for at least 20 minutes.
  • STEP 9.In a separate pan, add 1 ½ tbsp butter.
  • STEP 10.Add chopped garlic, chilli flakes, black pepper and cook for 2 mins.
  • STEP 11.Top this mixture on the pan-fried chicken.
  • STEP 12.Sprinkle some grated cheese & coriander leaves.

Storage And Serving Method

  • STEP 1.Serve the spicy chicken French toast with mayonnaise and tomato ketchup.
