Ingredients for Beef Rendang Recipe

  • 3/4 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon Plain flour or cornflour
  • pinch Pinch of salt and pepper
  • 200 gram Braising/stewing beef cut into large chunks
  • 1/4 Large brown onion peeled and chopped
  • 1.25 Cloves of garlic peeled and minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon Minced ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1/2 Lemongrass stalks discard the outer leaves, and finely slice the lemongrass
  • 1/2 Red chillies chopped. i use hot red chillies as the heat cooks out during cooking
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tamarind paste
  • 1/4 tablespoon Ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Kaffir lime leaves fresh or freeze dried
  • 3/4 tablespoon Dark brown muscovado sugar
  • 0.13 teaspoon Salt
  • 200 milliliter 28oz full fat coconut milk
  • As required Boiled rice
  • As required Egg fried rice
  • As required Spring onions sliced into thin strips
  • As required Fresh red chillies sliced
  • As required Green veg such as pak choi or spinach
