Pork belly cooked tender and served with a spicy sichuan chilli sauce.Sichuan style pork slices have a wonderful combined taste featured by garlic sauce and Sichuan style red oil.Brown sugar, soy sauce and other spices are added and the braising begins. The result is a rich, crispy, succulent pork belly covered in a sweet, sticky sauce that has a nice touch of heat.

Ingredients for Sichuan Spicy Pork Belly Recipe

  • 500 gram Pork belly with skin
  • 2 teaspoon Cooking wine
  • 10 gram Ginger thinly sliced
  • None Ingredients for sauce
  • 50 gram Garlic finely chopped
  • 10 gram Ginger very finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Malt vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Ground sichuan pepper
  • 1 flakes Chili tbsp
  • 2 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Sichuan Spicy Pork Belly Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 for the sauce, in a small mixing bowl add 50 gm finely chopped garlic, 10 gm very finely chopped ginger, 1 tbsp malt vinegar, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tsp sugar, 2 tsp ground sichuan pepper. Stir and mix well.

  • STEP 2.2 in a saucepan boil 500 ml water. When the water is boiling, place the 500 gm pieces of pork belly in the water with 10 gm thinly sliced ginger and 2 tsp cooking wine.

  • STEP 3.3 cover and boil for 30 to 40 minutes .

  • STEP 4.4 for the chili oil, heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok for 2 minutes. Then turn off the heat and allow the oil to cool for 1 minute.

  • STEP 5.5 then add 2 tbsp chili flakes to the hot oil and stir for a minute.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 add this chili oil to the prepared sauce mixture. Stir and mix well.

  • STEP 7.7 after 30 to 40 minutes, remove the pork from the pan and hold it under cold running water.

  • STEP 8.8 then leave it aside in a sieve to drain and cool down completely.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9 once cooled, thinly slice the pork belly.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10 arrange on a serving platter and drizzle the sauce over.
