Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a large pot, bring milk to a boil and add the soaked rice.
  • STEP 3.Cook the rice in milk on low heat until it becomes soft and creamy.
  • STEP 4.Add jaggery to the rice and mix well until it dissolves completely.
  • STEP 5.Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with nuts and raisins before serving.
  • STEP 7.Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to stir the rice frequently while cooking to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  • You can adjust the sweetness of the shukta by adding more or less jaggery according to your taste.
