Ingredients for Shimla mirch Recipe

  • 1/2 nos ** medium-sized Shimla Mirch (capsicum)
  • As required ** chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 nos - ** medium-sized potatoes
  • As required ** peeled and diced
  • 1/4 nos - ** large onion
  • As required ** finely chopped
  • 1/2 nos - ** tomatoes
  • As required ** finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon - **cumin seeds**
  • 1/4 teaspoon - **mustard seeds**
  • 1/4 teaspoon - **turmeric powder**
  • 1/4 teaspoon - **red chili powder**
  • 1/4 teaspoon - **coriander powder**
  • 1/4 teaspoon - **garam masala**
  • As required - **Salt to taste**
  • 1/2 tablespoons - **oil**
  • As required - **Fresh coriander leaves** for garnish

Directions: Shimla Mirch Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. **Heat oil** in a pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, and let them splutter.
  • STEP 2.2. **Add the chopped onions** and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  • STEP 3.3. **Add the diced potatoes** and cook for 5-6 minutes until they start to soften.
  • STEP 4.4. **Add the chopped Shimla Mirch** and mix well. Cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  • STEP 5.5. **Add the chopped tomatoes** and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  • STEP 6.6. **Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt.** Mix well and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the potatoes and capsicum are fully cooked.
  • STEP 7.7. **Add garam masala** and stir well.
  • STEP 8.8. **Garnish with fresh coriander leaves** and serve hot with roti or paratha.
