Shawarma is a great recipe of the middle eastern cuisine. It is made from marinated chicken or any other meat cooked slowly on a vertical spit for many hours. The chicken is then very skillfully shredded to be served on a plate or wrap. Shawarma is usually relished along with salads, pickle, toum(garlic) sauce, hummus and arabic bread. One can prepare this dish at home by marinating the chicken pieces in shawarma spices, greek yoghurt and lemon juice. It can then be cooked in oven or pan fried. Once done the chicken is shredded and served. The few spices that go into making the shawarma style chicken fill up the whole place with an aromatic flavour .
