  • STEP 1.Peel and chop the yam into small pieces.
  • STEP 2.Boil the yam until it is soft and tender.
  • STEP 3.Drain the water and mash the yam.
  • STEP 4.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt.
  • STEP 7.Add the mashed yam and mix well.
  • STEP 8.Shape the mixture into chops and shallow-fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 9.Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
