A healthy easy dish prepared in vegetables prepared in coconut milk along with tempeh and tofu.Sayur lodeh is Indonesian vegetable stew in coconut milk. Like its cousin, sayur asem, sayur lodeh has no fixed rules on which vegetables to use.

Ingredients for Sayur Lodeh Recipe

  • 1 Nos Nos tofu
  • 100 gram Tempeh
  • 50 gram dried bean curd sheets
  • 30 gram glass noodles
  • 1/2 cup long beans
  • 1/2 cup white cabbage
  • 1 Nos aubergine
  • 100 gram prawns
  • 1 Nos carrot
  • 2 stalk Lemongrass
  • 4 Nos shallots
  • 2 tablespoon dried shrimps
  • 2.50 cm turmeric fresh
  • 1.50 cup Water
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon Salt

  • STEP 1.Clean and wash prawns

step 2

  • STEP 2.Cut tempeh and tofu into pieces

step 3

  • STEP 3.Marinate tempeh and tofu with salt and turmeric

step 4

  • STEP 4.Shallow tempeh and tofu until golden brown

step 5

  • STEP 5.Soak glass noodles and beancurd skin in water

step 6

  • STEP 6.Chop long beans,white cabbage,carrot and aubergine into small pieces

  • STEP 7.Chop off the green section of lemongrass and take only the bottom part

step 8

  • STEP 8.Lightly pound the lemongrass

step 9

  • STEP 9.Grind shallots,dried shrimps and turmeric with water

step 10

  • STEP 1.take a pan and add ground ingredients,lemongrass and boil for 5 mins at high flame

step 11

  • STEP 1.and water and boil it at high heat for 5 mins

step 12

  • STEP 10.3.now add dried bean curd,glass noodles,carrot,long beans,white cabbage and aubergine.

  • STEP 11.4.cook it at medium flame for 8-10 mins

  • STEP 12.5.optionally add red chillies and extra spice for taste

step 15

  • STEP 13.6.then add thick coconut milk and cook for 5 mins until it begins boiling

step 16

  • STEP 14.7.add prawns,tofu,tempeh and salt as per taste and cook it for another 5 mins

step 17

  • STEP 15.8.now turn off the flame and serve it
