No, for me, its all about the warm and comforting flavors of things like winter squash, apples, and cinnamon and thats what makes this sausage stuffed butternut squash my ideal autumn meal. (but really it fits in any time of year youre able to find the squash. ) its a master class in the balance of sweet and savory, thanks to a medley of complementary ingredients like salty italian sausage, honeycrisp apples, fragrant sage, maple syrup, fennel, and of course, that sweet butternut squash.
