Ingredients for Sarso ka saag with makki ki roti. Recipe
1/2 cup Makki ka Atta
1.50 cup chopped mustard leaves
1/2 cup Chopped spinach leaves
1/2 cup chopped bathua leaves
1 pieces Tomatoes chopped
1 pieces Onion chopped
1/2 tbsp chopped ginger and green chilli
1.50 pieces 3-4 pieces
as required Salt
1 tbsp musturd oil
1 Tbsp Butter or ghee
1/4 tsp Turmaric powder
1/2 tsp corriender powder
1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
1/2 tsp Jaggery
a pinch Hing
1/4 tsp Cumin seed
1/2 Pieces piece-bay leaf
Directions: Sarso Ka Saag With Makki Ki Roti. Recipe
STEP 1.1-in a bowl add makki ka atta,1/2 tsp salt and make a smooth dough by adding warm water. Cover and keep aside.
STEP 2.2-wash and clean mustard leaves,spinach leaves and bathua leaves under running water. Drain and chopped them roughly.
STEP 3.3-take all leaves in a pressure cooker along with 1 cup of water. Pressure cook it for 2 whistles. Off the flame. Remove the lid after releasing the steam. Let the leaves cool for few minutes.
STEP 4.4-Transfer this leaves in grinder and grind it along with chopped onion,tomatoes,ginger,green chilli,garlic and2 tsp of makki ka atta. Blend this mixture to a smooth puree.
STEP 5.5-Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf ,hing and cumin seeds. When its crackled add turmeric powder,corriender powder and red chilli powder saute and add leaves puree into it.stir and cook for 10-12 minutes on low flame. Add jaggery and mix. Stir occasionally in between to prevent sticking.
STEP 6.6-when the mixture leave the side of the pan remove from heat.
STEP 7.7-heat pan and make roti of prepared dough of makki ka atta. Serve hot sarso ka Saag with makki ki roti along with jaggery and butter.
