STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add gram flour, butter, rice flour, carom powder, cumin powder, hing, salt, red chili powder, mix everything together.
STEP 2.Add water in small quantities to make a soft dough.
STEP 3.Once the dough is prepared let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
STEP 4.Heat a wide heavy bottomed vessel with enough oil for deep frying.
STEP 5.Take the murukku press and use the disc with the smallest holes. Fill half of the press with the dough.
STEP 6.Once the oil is hot press the murukku press to make concentric layers of the dough.
STEP 7.Fry until the dough appears golden in color from both sides.
STEP 8.Now take out the karapusa from the pan and remove excess oil.
STEP 9.Serve in a bowl and enjoy.
