A rejuvenating tasty drink. Sambaram or Morum Vellam is Kerala style spicy buttermilk which is spiced with curry leaves, green chillies, and ginger. It is refrigerated for a few hours before serving so that the flavours of all the ingredients seep in the buttermilk. All you need is curd and basic Indian spices for making this flavorful Onam cooler. However, you could even serve it as a cooler. Say bye to Spiced Buttermilk for a few days and fall in love with the flavours of the South by making Sambaram recipe.

Ingredients for Sambaram Recipe

  • 0.13 cup Curd
  • 1/2 No.s Green Chilly
  • 0.13 piece Ginger finely chopped
  • 1/2 No.s Shallots
  • 1/4 Curry leaves stem
  • 1/4 cup Cold water
  • As required Salt

Directions: Sambaram Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixer grinder add ½ cup of curd, 2 green chillies, 2 shallots, 1 stem of plucked curry leaves and ½ piece of finely chopped ginger.
  • STEP 2.Grind it well in the blender. Transfer it into a bowl and pour curd and cold water. Add salt to taste and stir well. Add a few leaves before garnishing.
