Saisonnire is french for seasonal, and its certainly a fitting name for this perfect pear sour from new yorks lafayette restaurant. We had the good fortune of sipping our first saisonnire just as the weather began to cool, and it immediately had us thinking of holiday meals and chilly nights. The original recipe calls for poire williams, a french eau de vie made from the williams pear. Any clear pear liqueur will do, as long as it isnt too sweet or syrupy.
